Inside the Orchestra: Dance All Night - Music for the Stage

Presented by: Ottawa Symphony Orchestra

Sunday, April 8, 2018 at 1 pm

Have you ever wondered what it is like to see into the inner workings of an orchestra?

How all those violinists manage to move their bows at the same time with the same intensity?

And how all the winds and brass manage to play together from different parts of the stage?

Guest conductor Tania Miller will lead the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra through a public rehearsal of selections from the following program:

  • Michael Oesterle "Entr'actes" (premiere) / « Entr'actes » (première)
  • Tchaïkovsky Swan Lake: Suite op. 20 / Le Lac des cygnes, suite op. 20

Watch Miller's artistic vision come to life as she discusses the historical context and musical style of this repertoire all whilst balancing the sounds of one hundred passionate musicians. Families welcome!
